My Last Holiday

My Last Holiday

Last holiday, my family and I went to Bali.We went on 26 July, arrived at night and spent six nights in Seminyak. My father rent a car so  we could travel and went to places.

For the first day, we didn’t go anywhere because of traffic jam.So, we spent our day by enjoying the hotel facilities such as the pool and  the fitness centre.

The next day,we walked to Gado-gado beach in the morning.Gado-gado beach was beautiful and the sand was white. But unfortunately, many garbages around the sand such as  coconut shells, food leftovers ,etc. so, the beach was a bit stinky. We took some pictures together and enjoyed the scenary of the beach. In evening, we went to Jimbaran to have dinner. We went to Menega Cafe.It was really crowded. The food was really delicious ,I really love it!

On third day, we went to Tanah Lot.Tanah Lot was located on Desa Beraban ,Kecamatan Kediri. There were so many temples around the place.People were usually enjoy the scenary of the sea from the seaside of Tanah Lot while drunk young coconut water or taking pictures with temples or the sea.

Fourth day, we went Warung Babi Guling Depot Betty, one of the best babi guling place in Bali which was located in Ubud. The place was clean and quite big.It also had a small barn that contained with pigs on the backyard of the place.

Fifth day, we went to Monsieur Spoon.A friend of mother recommended to go there because of the fresh delicious breads and cakes that offered from that French B
akery.I tried the plain croissant also a slice of opera cake. Both were really delicious and sweet,I wanted to go there again one day, hahaha.

Last day, we went to a beach club, the Finn’s Beach Club that was located inside the Semara Uluwatu.I was amazed once I got there, the scenary was awesomely beautiful. The place was really clean,it was surrounded by two high cliffs, the sand was white and smooth also the sea was blue Turkis in colour. There was a cafĂ© on the beach more likely a cottage which was matched with the atmosphere of the place. It was all lovely except for the foods and drinks, it was expensive but, we didn’t have any choice because we haven’t have our breakfast. We spent half of our day on that place and took some pictures also enjoyed the beautiful scenary of the sea. After that, we went to our hotel and rest for a while.

At night, we went toBeachwalk. On the way to the mall, we found so many disco places and music’s everywhere. As we arrived, we immediately decided the meeting point then went to the stores and hunted things.Me and my sister to Bershka while others went to other stores. We had seeked the clothes but none of the clothes were suitable for both of us.
Then, we moved to Stradivarius. We tried to search the clothes and finally we  found some. After bought the clothes, we both ran to the meeting point. When we already met together, we went to the hotel. My little brother bought a pair of shoes also a bag. Then, we all were taking bath then rest.

In the morning, we packed our stuffs in the suitcases. After made sure that nothing was left, my father checked out then we went straightly to the airport.
We arrived about two hours before the flight so we had to wait.Unfortunately, we had to wait about thirty minutes again because the flight was delayed because of engine operation. So, me and my siblings played card while mom and dad played with their gadgets. Finally, the time was out and we flight back to Bandung.

The holiday was really enjoying, refreshing, and awesome,I really love it!!!

Faith to The Stars

The book Number the Stars is a story about the experience of a little ten year old girl, Annemarie Johansen and her family that helping their Jews friends, the Rosen family from Nazi's soldiers that  captured the Jews people in Conpehagen, Denmark during the Second World War. Besides the Johansens, there were also a young brave man, Peter Neilsen and Uncle Henrik, uncle of Annemarie that worked as a fisherman. Peter Neilsen was Annemarie's sister fiance, he did a lot to safe the Jews even he sacrifised his life for them ,he was killed by the Nazis after the second world war ended because they got an information that Peter was part of Resistance, the organisation which fought back the Nazis. Meanwhile, Uncle Henrik helped the Jews to across the sea from Gijilele went to Sweden because Sweden was a safety place from the dangerous Nazis. During her experience she faced many things such as the fact her sister, Lise death also the scary, unfriendly, and arbitrarily Nazi's soldiers. As a little girl, Annemarie was afraid of the soldiers but ,during her experience, she realised that she have to change her afraid to them so, she learnt become brave.

In my opinion, this book has deep meaning and interesting. The struggles of the Johansen family, Peter Neilsen, and Uncle Henrik are unbelievable, they even sacrifised their own lives for others. The book also tell me about courage, from Annemarie's struggle faced the Nazis soldiers. I love this book!

This story is base on true story, there are some metaphors that I found in this story such as "the Giraffe" for the Nazis soldiers means the soldiers had big tall body and long neck. In page 52, "Ellen looked puzzled" means Ellen looked confused. "There were stars here and there, dotting the sky" in page 95 means many stars blinking in the sky. “Is the weather good for fishingmeans “ Is it a good time to evacuate the refugees?”  and there still much more.

This book teaches me to help people not halfheartedly and start to care to others. Little Annemarie motivated me successfully to be brave to face the reality and also being loyalty to friends.

Number the Stars is an interesting story with motivations and deep meaning inside it. I would rate this book 9 / 10. I recommend this book for the teenagers that especially are not brave to face their own realities and problems. Try to read the whole story ! you might get something useful from it.

Belitung Island

Belitung Island

Last holiday, my big family and I went to Belitung Island.
It was a quiet great holiday. We went to Jakarta by Cipaganti Travel's car.
We went to Jakarta from Bandung at 4am then arrived there at 8am.
We flew from Jakarta International Airport at 10am then arrived at the Beitung Island at 12pm.
When we arrived there, my grandpa decided to having lunch first.
So, we went to the famous restaurant that sell noodle called Mie Atep.

Mie atep tastes really nice. Actually, the taste is similar with the traditional sundanese noodle, mie tek - tek.
In my opinion, the different between mie atep and mie tek - tek is just that mie atep serves the noodle with some shrimps and mie tek - tek doesn't. But I love mie atep so much more than mie tek - tek.

Then, after having our lunch, we decided to go to our hotel, Grand Hatika Hotel.
The Hotel was quiet good. We took nap for some hours. Then at 5pm, we went to Tanjung Tinggi Beach.
We ate seafood there. It tastes really nice. Actually I prefer to eat seafood in Belitung Island than in Bali Island. Because, if we eat seafood in Bali, we have to queue for a quiet long time, because so many tourists from the world go to Bali. If we eat seafood at the Belitung Island, we don't have to queue. Because the tourists aren't as many as Beli's tourists.
There was a fish named ilak. It was really delicious. The texture of its meat was really soft.
And the size of its was quiet big, also the price wasn't really expensive. I relly loved it!
Tanjung Tinggi Beach was a really nice beach. The scenery was really nice and cozy.
There were so many big rocks at the sea. My family and I took some photos there.
After spending some hours there, we went back to our hotel to take rest.

At the next day, my famiy and I went to Andrea Hirata's Poetry Museum.
Andrea Hirata is the author of the famous Laskar Pelangi film.
We also went to the original SD Laskar Pelangi.
In my opinion, the school was really dirty and looks old.
But it was cute and quiet tumblristic. I took a photo of it and posted it to my instagram account.
Haha.
We ate seafood for our lunch and chinese food for our dinner.

A the next day, we went to Burung Island near Belitung Island.
We used a boat to go there.
We spent some hours there then we planned to go to Bintang Laut Island.

Unfortunately, when we were on our way to get to the Bintang Laut Island, our boat suddenly stopped. Because of leagake kerosene that we got.
We got  for an hour at the sea.
Some of us puked because of seasick.
Then, a rescue boat came, then we were asked to move to that rescue boat.
We moved and we went back to the main Belitung Island. We  didn't want to continue or trip to the Bintang Laut Island.
It was a quiet horrible day for me.

At the last day, we packed up our lugage and got prepared to go home.
Before we went to the airport, we once more went to the Tanjung Tinggi Beach to eat seafood and took some photos.
Then we flew from the Belitung Island at 1pm and arrived at Jakarta at 3pm.
Then we arrived to Bandung at 11pm because of horrible trafic jam that we got a long the toll road.

Traditional Foods in Indonesia

HELLO
I want to introduce traditional foods from my country, Indonesia because I love it.

  1. Gudeg
If you want to go to Yogyakarta, the best choice to fill your stomach is Gudeg.
Actually the Gudeg itself is the part of this food,it contains meat that cooked tenderly.
 Yummy...
This is one of the best Gudeg restaurant in Bandung, for more information, call the number that shown on the picture, hihihi...

2. Rawon
Rawon is also my favorite. This food is from Surabaya.
Rawon's ingredients are meat, beans sprouts, an egg, chives, and spices for the soup.
That's why you have to eat this menu while it's still hot and fresh from the cooker, because beside it is healthy, it is also makes your body warm.
This food is suitable when the weather is not good.

3.Timbel Rice
Timbel rice is from Bandung, known as Sundanese traditional food.
Timbel rice serves steamed rice, fried chicken, a salted duck egg, tahu( made from soybeans ), and  sambal / lalapan( traditional salad in Indonesia from chili ) that wrapped inside banana leaf.
The portion of this food is very fit to fill our hungriness, hahaha
Some places in Bandung sell this food, but in my opinion, you can taste Timbel rice in Kartika Sari, believe me, its so delicious. You must try!
H.Akbar road no.4, Bandung is the location of Kartika Sari.
